Internet Student Makes $130K in His First Year

The last couple “end of year” months have been extremely action packed. First I wanted to say thank you for all your help and guidance you have provided this year for Pure Bamboo. I can honestly say we would not be where we are without your insightful advice. Thank you. I wanted to write you to share with you my year in review as I think you may find it interesting and I know it will be helpful for me. But before I begin I wanted to let you know I’ve decided not to pursue the reality game show project. While I think it is a viable and innovative idea and would be a great marketing avenue for Robert Allen, as you pointed out it’s the time and energy that it takes to put something like that together. Both of which I have little of. Thank you for your offer to fun it by him, perhaps it is a project best left for another time.

As of today first year sales totaled 130K! Not bad for a bamboo bathrobe company in its first year. In late October we received a call from Hyatt Hotels on Sunset from the head of housekeeping requesting information and samples of our robes. They reviewed our products and put in our largest order to date – 1625 robes – almost a 60K invoice. However, I did not have that many robes in stock and could only provide a little over 200 – which was still an $8000 – invoice – not bad. Our hope is that they still plan to purchase the entire amount from us – and coincidentally Hyatt Hotels Spa’s are called Pure Spa. Could be a good match for us – worldwide. If we could have secured all 1600 robes and monies from them our gross sales total for the year would have been closer to 180K!

Additional highlights include: working with Virgin Mobile and having the towels delivered to Richard Branson at an eco event in New Jersey, interest and hopefully a purchase by BP gas stations, Having the robes presented in two eco fashion shows, Landing the client of Glen Ivy – and a sale of 1000 robes and year contract for them to purchase the robes.

The ISPA convention we attended in Florida enabled us to gain access to high level corporate executives for the Ritz Carton, Four Seasons and Canyon Ranch among others. At present we are in talks with and all companies have samples of our products for review. We are hopeful and confident that at least some of these deals will come through. There are several other companies equally as large if not larger that are also interested in the robes, towels, and sheets all of which have product in front of their boards for review.

The Price of Bamboo is increasing as are the number of competitors on the market – if you go online now and type in Bamboo clothes or fabric – soooo many more internet companies are popping up – yet none to date with the business model of focusing just on Spa and resorts – actually it seems there are few companies that sell bathrobes and towels to Spas and resorts – the largest has only been around for 7 years or so and none of the main well known companies in this field are going green. At least not to my knowledge – ironically, idealistically this is both a blessing and a curse – good because of the marketing advantage that provides Pure Bamboo bad for the environment over all. One of the things I’m most proud of implementing is our Rebate and Recycle program in which our clients have an incentive to return our used bathrobes for a 5% of purchase price rebate toward the purchase of the same item – once the bathrobes have worn out – they return them to us and we’ll recycle them – no one else is doing this and companies are taking notice.

In some of our first conversations you mentioned having access to several suppliers for the bathrobes and towels in case one stopped producing. On this front I have been successful as well. I have been talking with two investors who are interested in working with and investing in Pure Bamboo. They have contacts in China and have now found 3 factories that can supply the robes and towels. One of the investors is from the Philippines and has a garment factory over there which could produce smaller runs for us. This also means we could become a private labeler for other companies seeking to make bamboo products. He has found three factories all of which can make the robes at a reduced cost. As for the quality of the product that is the next step to see what these factories can do. I’m asking for an investment of 150K from them. We’ll see how it plays out. I also have names and numbers of other contacts for bamboo fabric in China so if it does not work out with them I can pursue other means. I really see this as the next major step for being able to take the company to the next level – we have to reduce manufacturing costs so we can increase profits and market share. However, in order to do this and when additional large orders come through – it would be good to have investors to turn to for loans for the company as cash flow can or will be a significant problem in the year to come.

On another front we have made significant inroads with a “green” spa consulting company. They like us and want to work with us and have over 100 companies they are working with at present – They’ve already given us some leads and referrals over the last two months since our meeting. I’m not sure how compensation can or should work for them if at all. They are called Bluspasinc.com – Doug Chambers the head of Blu Spa’s is a straight shooter no nonsense type of guy that I really like. He formally was a corporate attorney and transferred that skill to consulting for hotels and resorts to help them go green. My goal is to work more closely with him in the year to come and possibly have him on our board of advisors. In addition to Blu Spa – there are a couple other Spa Consultants we are in talks with – each of these could be extremely lucrative.

I’ve still not been able to make any headway with Nordstrom’s or Fred Segal and this is frustrating cause I know we would be a good match for them. Furthermore I feel it is only a matter of time before these stores pick up a bamboo robe from someone else – at present finding bamboo towels is relatively easy but no one is really touting the robe. This is a much more “feel good” product than a bamboo towel and I find it to be a very easy sell. So fingers crossed for entrance into this market.

In brief I feel it has been a good year for Pure Bamboo – I feel the name and branding are strong and easy to remember the URL is also perfect and easy for people to find. I feel we have identified a strong market and I know we are the first company to be actively marketing to the hotel, resort and spa industry. First mover – major tactical advantage – my hope is that we can get well enough established so we can become a major force and player on the market.

United Kingdom: Student Averages $3K per Week

I thought I knew my way around the internet and I also thought I knew how to make a decent living from it.  However, I have been working with my coach for about a couple of months now and to say I have learned a lot is an understatement.

I have been particularly impressed with the tools and ideas that my coach has provided me in terms of SEO and JV's.  By utilizing the tools and advice he has provided, in conjunction with optimizing my website, I have been generating sales that have averaged over $3000 a week over the last number of weeks!

In hindsight, I did know quite a bit about marketing, but now after working with Prosper Coaching, I know a great deal more!

Internet Student Closes in on $10k per Month!

My background is primarily real estate and construction.  I started this business a few years ago with the idea of selling decorative concrete products to home owners, small to midsize commercial contractors, or property managers…who had smaller projects that contractors typically wouldn’t take on…clients who had no resources.  So, I formulated www.decorativeconcretekits.com to bring it under one roof.

The website just recently went live…I started about one year ago, had the right ideas, I hooked up with you guys last July…and I went about redesigning it.  I added some new vendors and in a pretty short period of time we are getting really great traffic.  We’re probably about 75 unique visitors a day right now after about two weeks.  We just had 120 yesterday.

SUCCESS UPDATE

I’ve been working the blog hard, less on articles but at least 2 ezine articles per week. Submitted to close to 200 directories, accepted by 20.  Gross sales since web site went up is $21,000 net about $8,000.00. Total sales 23 $900.00 per sale.

I’ve completed 50 blog posts. Each I work in a few keyword phrases. Traffic on my website is 120-175 per day for the past month. Most interest is from Texas, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts. Florida.

In recent days I’m seeing 20% of traffic on site for more than 5 minutes up from about 12%. I’m also seeing a change from about 65% leaving in first 30 seconds down to 55% recently.  Everyone who buys a kit is thrilled with the results. I don’t understand why I’m not selling 1 per day.  So currently I’m averaging $2,000 per week in sales, I need to get to $8,000 per week to start making any money. After expenses that will get me to about $3,000 per week in profit, which will enable me to pay myself a salary and have some operating capital in the bank.

SUCCESS UPDATE

I’ve picked up some new business.  1 company with 2 businesses actually hired me to handle their online marketing.  Paying me $2,000.00 each for starters.  Looks like I should be close to $7,000.00 per month very soon and climbing.

And to think people roll their eyes when I tell them I have a site about concrete.  Check out my latest post.  Just opened up a whole new world of decorative plasters (many have Portland cement in them) for use on walls and ceilings.

We Sold in the First Quarter this Year What it Took 12 months to Do Last Year!

Hi Chris, I thought I would drop you a line while I had a chance to catch my breath! I was going to wait one more week so I could give you a look at the first quarter of sales for M-B Electronics and Electronic Toolbox, but I was so excited as to what has been happening I was ready to burst!

Looks like the first quarter of this year is going to end up with around a 22% increase in sales over last year.  Electronic ToolBox Inc has already sold in the first quarter this year what took 12 months to do last year. Simply AWESOME!!!!!!!

I have continued working on building links, working the keywords and just plain out having fun with this whole deal. I am so glad that you and I have had this opportunity to work together over the last 6 weeks. I have watched pages inside our web site mbelectronics.com go from sometimes as far back as 10 pages deep on Google to front page, top 5. In fact on some Google pages out of the top ten rankings hold 3 of the top 10 spots with articles and page links.

International sales have increased to the point that when I meet with Velleman Electronics at the EDS (Electronic Distributors Show) in Las Vegas this May we will be discussing the possibility of drop shipping direct from Velleman Belgium to our customers in the European market.

On the domestic side of things our Audio Visual Parts sales have continued to increase steadily.  We hold top positions on Google for all of the major keywords in that market, and just like the Electronic Tools side of the business the articles and page links in some instances hold 3 or 4 of the top 10 positions on Google.

I really have to giggle at times and at the same time pinch myself to see if this isn't just a dream. I can't tell you how many compliments I receive not only about www.mbelectronics.com, but about my articles. I never realized that my own words and ideas could possibly carry so much weight.

There is no doubt in my mind that the time you and I have spent working together has had a direct impact on the growth we are realizing. It's amazing that by making subtle changes to the web site could have such dramatic results in such a short period of time. We just won't tell my competitors our little secret!

 Hope this letter finds all of you in good health. Sherri and I are looking forward to the start of the Platinum Club and sharing our excitement with other students who may still be having some doubts about their own futures. NASA Engineer Finds Success in Selling Ballroom Shoes

I have started a very successful internet business under the guidance of the team at Prosper.  I sold my first item within a day of making my website available to the public.  This was accomplished simply by following the advice of my mentor: “This week, your assignment is get listings in as many relevant directories as possible”.  To-date, (which is exactly 1 month as of the day I am writing this), I have sold over $1,500.00 worth of product on-line at a profit margin of about 40%.

Though these numbers are not huge, the education I received from my mentor has provided me with the knowledge base which will allow me to continue expanding my site and increase my income steadily.  I now know that my internet income is limited only by the time I put into working on my website, negotiating appropriate products to sell, and the creativity of my own ideas in discovering other venues in which to market my products.

Over the next 3 months, I intend to complete my web page marketing my custom dance shoes to brides and bridal parties.  I plan to purchase an advertisement in a prestigious group of on-line bridal magazines which will direct the customers to this specific page on my site.  I have already discussed the web page styling with one of the editors, and am working hard to complete the page targeting the lucrative wedding industry.

I also have negotiated a contract to sell several brands of top-of-the-line dance shoes through the only dealer n the US that I know of who can keep a specific line of very desirable high-end ballroom dance shoes in stock.  The distributor accomplished this through working with German dance shoe design genius for over 30 years.  Knowing first-hand of the frustration of professional and semi-professional ballroom dancers in getting these shoes, I invested much time in negotiating an agreement with this distributor to drop ship shoes for me.

It is important to note that this distributor has NEVER drop-shipped for anyone before, but by careful negotiations we have worked out what I believe will be a win-win agreement.  During the next few months, I plan to add at least 2 of the several top-end brands to my site, and based on response to those listings, I may add more top end shoes.

The personal mentoring I received through this program kept me on a straight path to success.  My weekly assignments were well thought out and very specific.  Through this one-on-one mentoring I learned that I have to stay on top of the internet trends, particularly following the way Google ranks websites.  The personal mentoring I received through this program could never be replaced by a classroom type curriculum.  Each internet business has its own set of obstacles to overcome, and a general approach would never have allowed me to be successful.  I know that my personal mentor had no knowledge of or interest in the ballroom dance community that I now market my products to before working with me.  However, his broad experience in internet marketing allowed him to quickly understand the niche, and from that understanding he discovered how to help me in overcoming obstacles.

All of the mentors, technical support people, and designers were absolutely great.  I can not criticize any of them in their delivery of the required tools and information. In fact, if I compare the investment vs. income payoff of this program as compared to that of obtaining a degree from a university, I think the investment in Prosper would win out in many people’s bottom line. This comes from someone with a B.S. degree in Engineering, an M.S. degree in Engineering and a MBA.

Through my experience with Prosper, I believe I have finally found a way in which the investment of my time and energy will pay me back in proportion to that investment.  My full time job as an engineer working on thermal control of space borne satellites for NASA provides me with technical challenges, but does not come close to providing me with the sense that what I put into my work will pay me back proportionally.  This sort of satisfaction and gratification are exactly what I was looking for...

As constructive criticism/compliment I think that a bit more time with the website design people would have been helpful (at least to me) in learning a bit more about HTML, etc.  I regularly have problems with that, but I am learning.  The Tech Support Staff generally can help me out of problems I encounter, but I think that if I had been given more 1:1 time with the web design folks, the tech support staff would be less pressured.  I also feel that the Vermotion website outline should be more versatile as you are trying to satisfy many different sorts of internet businesses with one single web design.  In many cases, the “Default” for me was not at all optimal for my product line.  Of course, I aware that this is easier said than done…

…Finally, I would like to express special thanks to my mentor, Andrew Melchoir, who remained patient with me throughout the process.  I am very demanding of myself, and am quite demanding on others.  He lived up to my very high expectations.

This Week: $2,260.87,  this Month: $2,009.87, this Year: $88,579.98.  Timing was good too with Dancing With The Stars and all of the movies coming out. My margin varies but averages around 42.5%. Nice to have a little extra income stream...my oldest daughter is a freshman at McGill in Montreal, and my younger daughter is a junior in High School.

Business is booming. This is the slow season and I have pulled in over 16K year-to-date.  I ended last year with Gross of 105K at about a 42% profit margin. Handy for these college years for my daughters.

$4500 a month in revenue!

I want to thank Prosper for all they have done to make my site a great success!  Before working with Prosper my site was solely designed to inform clients about Pitching lessons and why they should take them from me.  My success at the time was referral based which was great, but, I was limiting myself to a 100 mile radius.  I also had to physically be somewhere in order to make money.  I was determined to share my knowledge to a much larger audience, but didn’t know how to do it.

I started creating my own products. First an e-book, and then a DVD about Pitching Mechanics.  Even though I had great products, I had no idea how to market them.  Finally, my friend introduced me to Prosper and their coaching program.  I started working with my coach Dane Ing and soon realized how much I didn’t know about the internet.  I also found out that I was spending money on marketing that I truly didn’t need to and spinning my wheels working on projects that weren’t producing any results.

I applied the knowledge I had gained from my first coaching session with Dane and the results were instantaneous.  There were actually people visiting my site; more importantly, there were buyers.

Today, I make money everyday on my site.  I make more from my internet business than some people make working 40 hours a week. Not only do I know how to market more effectively, other businesses are doing it for me. I have businesses contact me on a regular basis to promote my products on their sites. Greater opportunities are presenting themselves as my company continues to grow; they’re also more frequent.  I love the automated process!

Prosper has not only helped me realize how effective the internet can be, but they have truly changed my way of life.  I would recommend Prosper to anyone who is serious about making money on the internet.  The only way someone wouldn’t be successful with Prosper is because they simply gave up on themselves.  The knowledge you will gain is incredible regardless of how much success you’ve already experienced.

I want to thank my coaches Dane Ing and Stacey Barrus for helping make my site such a success. I have made tremendous progress on The Pitching Academy after creating a sales letter about 4 months ago, as requested by Stacey, and my daily revenue has skyrocketed. I now make $4500 a month and this is just the beginning. I also made $1800 within a 24 hour period after a very simple joint venture I set up. When I continue to implement the marketing strategies you have both recommended I feel I can double this number within two months. I will keep in touch with the both of you. I Am Looking Forward to Designing My Own Line of Products

Profits between $180 - $220 on a daily and consistent basis!

Everything is going really well and super busy. I've been having pretty good success with Adwords, especially in the past week and a half as I experimented with super targeted keywords and ad phrases. For the past 6 days now my Clickbank commissions have been between $180.00 and $220.00 on a daily and consistent basis. This has been all from 1 campaign and 2 text ads for the most part and with a commission earning of $29.00. Also, most importantly, my CPC has dropped, and keeps dropping, no more google slaps either, my CTR is way up some keywords some in double digits and my average position on page 1 for any of my main keywords is up also between 2 and 5. My conversions have been pretty amazing, for example; Today I earned so far $116.00 as of 12 noon, and my cost total is $37.00 , so I'm pretty excited to see if I make more this afternoon. Clickbank is awesome and I got my first cheque from them a couple weeks ago for 1145.00. That's total profit after ppc costs, a few refunds and taxes of course. That amount was based on 4 campaigns, 2 were successful, the third was a dud and fourth was about break even. Also, my costs for clicks was 757.00. Most of that cost was the first week and a half until i learned to optimize my keywords and test the ads. So I think I did pretty good with that considering the enormous learning curve with adwords. Now I'm going to scale those two campaigns to milk them as much as possible and I have a couple more products I'm researching now. I should mention too that for these campaigns I did a lot of article submission marketing for each product and I found a couple of really effective and cheap places to advertise links. They seem to be working and they're the same places I noticed where a lot of the more known online marketers have their ads.

As for my photoshop blog, I haven't really touched it lately only because I've started something similar with some people I work with that's taking off pretty fast. 3 guys I work with came to me with this idea they had. They ride motorbikes and they actually came up with a really great niche with these bikes called supermoto's. So I looked at it and proposed a joint venture project with them. I built a simple landing page, added the wordpress blog to it and a forums discussion page. Now they do all the content writing and managing the forum and I just instruct them on the social networking part of it like you showed me and how to get traffic. It's a little bit tougher to find blogs on this niche because the sport is relatively new in North America but I've got them promoting with facebook, myspace, and I think youtube as well. One of them this week actually is working out a deal with a parts distributor in the U.S. so that seems to be a real positive thing. Project #3 Another friend from work started his own business locally so I worked out a deal with him where I build his website and maintain it and I get to use the landing page and link page space for some cyber real estate keeping 100% profits on whatever revenue I make on the ads I put up. I'll update you when I get going on that and let you know in a couple of weeks how or if that's working.

Anyways, so far so good. I've been using every technique from the online lessons at prospering and also the strategies you showed me and I'm a million miles farther ahead today than I was a year ago. Thanks for emailing me, I will be sure to contact you when I need help.

You Have Made this Possible for Me!!

WOW! What a week! We lost power soon after we got off the phone with you. The whole county was declared an emergency. We got our power back on Wednesday and having been trying to clean up since! But, while I was going through computer withdrawals during our 'black out', I was making sales! On the site!

So, where to begin! It's really starting to come together!  I told you I had a quilt on a website I was trying to get listed on, well, they sent out a Monthly newsletter where I was featured in. This received lots of hits to the site.  Yesterday, I was informed that they have listed my site, so I'm now in the Quilt index. Where you want to be if you are an online fabric store! This is great! We are already seeing an increase in traffic coming from this site.

Also, being personal with people on eBay has led to several off eBay sales - one of which was on the website! Yeah! Our first! Also, had another one that wanted something different that what was listed, so I sent her an invoice through paypal, and she paid - again, no eBay fees!  EBay has been very steady lately as well. So, we've had a good week, and it's still going steady.

I've been advertising on free sites – doesn’t seem to do much good, but I thought I'd try! Still listing in directories, but we are now to the pay ones. So, we are spreading it out a bit more.

SUCCESS UPDATE

I just noticed today, that our ETSY shop has a page rank of 3 now!   It was zero until here recently - I've been watching!  Now, the funny thing is.... my admin page on Etsy, has a page rank of 6!  Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it.  Website still at a page rank of 3.  I don't think eBay works the same way, or I have no page rank on eBay.  Either way, still happy!

Oh, and 7 sales today today (and it's not over yet!)  Thank you so much Nate!  You have made this possible for me!  It's getting really exciting all of a sudden!  I mean the sales are just flooding in all of a sudden!  I'm so excited.  We'll hit $1000 this month.  I know, it's not much, but it's more than we've made in one month so far!  I'll have to revisit our goals!  I've surpassed them for this quarter already!

Prosper Gave Me Real-Life Tools

I actually researched Prosper and other programs for about 6 months prior to joining. Change--I wanted it very much. Staying the same would only bring me the same results. I always knew I could do something more. I have always desired financial independence and prosperity. With Prosper, I was given real life tools. Hey, it's a lot of hard work (for me VERY hard work), but the tools work and I am one of those folks who had very little computer skills at the beginning of my coaching. I could basically send emails but nothing fancy like attachments, please! I could use my credit card of course (ha ha). Beyond that I knew ditto.

So my success at Prosper has been quite slow probably in comparison to others. But I am now making some sales and I will not give up. I am on page one of Google consistently for my main keyword phrase and I did it all with the free SEO tactics Nate and the resource advisors taught me. It took over 1 year to make my 1st sale. Learning to be patient was hard, but I kept busy instead of fretting about my lack of sales. I wrote and submitted articles--I am up to 29 so far. I blogged and now am learning SMM.

While I work on my website, I have made myself a top priority. Before I went part time at the hospital(I was a full time ICU RN), I made sure I had enough socked away just in case.

I did not just 'give up my day job'. I made it a point to become educated about personal finances and investing. This is truly gratifying. I need to be in charge of my money and have it grow the best way it can.  I dont ever want to get old and sickly and not be able to pay my bills or become someone else's burdon. So learning about my personal finances was something I never took the time to look at; I always blindly trusted investment advisors. I used to think just because I pay off my credit cards I have nothing to worry about--WRONG! I needed to become educated about where my money is and take better care of it so it will GROW the best it can. For that I am truly blessed and thankful.

I stopped watching TV over 1 year ago. Maybe 10 minutes of Judge Judy once in awhile or Oprah, but that's it. I get up real early and work very hard every day! This is the best way for me to free up time. I haven't seen a movie in over a year and I don't miss it. I can watch any movie anytime. I used to watch one movie over and over and over again. My time is too valuable for that! I'm glad I finally realize this.

I have very good and consistent practices with regard to my diet, exercise, rest, meditation, and yoga practice. These are all areas where I was ok but definitely needed improvement. I am now in optimal health. I make sure to keep up with my doctor and dental appointments. This might sound simplistic or unrelated to success in business, but it's not! I am my own CEO, if I take the best care of me, I have more to give my business and family. But as every mom knows, a lot of time we tend to put ourselves last because of kids, husbands, life, laundry, job, you name it. I no longer do this. Hey I'm 41,and I want to be around and active for grandkids and great grandkids! All these practices take a lot of practice. I also am a voracious reader. I always have something very powerful on hand like Deepak Chopra or Suze Orman and these give me far greater benefit than any TV program.

I bought a new computer and have learned a lot. I will download my new version of Invisus soon. When I did my coaching with Nate, I used a 2002 IBM Thinkpad. I and my new business totally needed and required a new computer. This was a necessary investment for my e commerce success. I am very glad these days and much less dizzy because there is no eye strain!

I take care of my garden, home, 2 kitties, new puppy and family and find time to be social too. I meet with 5 close friends every week for support and sharing. It is so good for me!

These are just some of the positives, I truly have seen more miracles this year and I truly love what I am doing. I love ArtisticHomeowner.com and I am very proud of it. I have put more energy and work into this than my Master's thesis. That is no joke. ( and I wrote a great thesis!)What I have not made back in money yet (it is now only a matter of when, no ifs!) I have made up for many times over in things money cannot buy. I am a powerful, competent, happy woman and I have found my spring board for success at Prosper.

This Program is Far Superior to a College Course in E-Commerce

We began working with Prosper to build www.BestHealthFoodStore.net and we started marketing the web site soon after  Here is an update of our progress thus far: We have spent more than 40 hours per week working on the development and marketing of the web site since April.  We are averaging 100-150 visitors per day to the site as of 10/31/07.  We have completed 21 sales in all ranging from $12 to $390 for a total of $1519.80 in revenue and about $300 in profit.  We have made about $500 on E-bay and Craig's list.  We have 840 leads from people who have given us their contact information upon visiting the site. We are following up with those leads by sending samples, using email campaigns, and phone calls (this is a large expense with 800 sample packages going out--$2,500).

We are on the top Google search pages for several of our key words (low carb foods, high fiber foods, all natural foods, health drinks, pregnancy nutrition, aromatherapy essential oil, and more).  Our web site pages have Google page ranks of 3 and 4.  We have a blog site at www.buyhighfiberfoods.com.  We have released 7 articles.  We have submitted 4 press releases that have generated traffic.  We have submitted many of our pages to StumbleOn and Digg.  We are working locally, offline to sell our products and find partners.  We have linked with Massage Magazine, writing articles for their newsletter and a link on their site.  We have found some books to sell on our web site, but don't want to invest in inventory. Looking for another way to do that.

Sales are still very slow, 3 small sales this week.  Here is the good news: We now have Google page ranks of 3 and 4 on some of our pages. We are all over the front pages of Google when our keywords are searched. Traffic is around 75-125 visitors per day, and it seems people are staying longer and looking at deeper pages.  We have been posting pages, articles and press releases to StumbleOn and Dig, which seems to improve traffic greatly in the short run whenever we submit another page.  We have created our first link with Massage Magazine. They contacted us after seeing our press release about free sample promotion. I submitted my first article that they will post in their newsletter.  We are working on an affiliation with McGraw Hill to sell some of their books on health and wellness, specifically a book by a local author called 'Rich and Thin-Eliminate Debt-Turn Calories Into Cash' We mailed all 800 samples to prospective customers. We have made about 200-300 calls to those prospects and plan on calling all of them. We have sent 2 E-mails to those prospects, including our first pro E-mail from Constant Contact.

Our web presence is growing by leaps and bounds while sales are stagnant. Just wish I knew how to turn more visitors into buyers.

SUCCESS UPDATE

We had 3 sales 3 days in a row to start off December, that's a new high for us- 2 in one day!! I have added free shipping on select items and 'We pay the Tax' to the home page. I also added phone number and Email at top of page, but no action there.  Look for my holiday Email that is going out to our sample recipients. Thanks for your help!

SUCCESS UPDATE

After 26 years as a radio personality it was time for me to learn a new trade and I could not have done it without Prosper.  Their program is definitely the fast track to learning about Internet commerce, Search Engine Optimization, and affordable marketing techniques for small businesses in the 21st Century.

Because of Prosper I have learned how to create websites and drive substantial traffic to them.  I have learned how to write web copy, create and submit articles and press releases to the Internet, and develop new strategies for promoting my businesses.

I will tell you that it has not been easy, and I am not making the kind of money I hope to make, yet.  However, my businesses have grown, new opportunities have presented themselves, and my income is greater this year than it was last year.  Given the current state of the economy, I am happy to be surviving right now and am eager to be prepared for prosperity when the economy improves.

If your dominating thoughts are nervousness, doubt, and fear, then you will struggle.  For me, it was an attitude of, 'I can't return to my previous career, so there is no turning back, it is time to begin something new'.  I believe that what I have learned from Prosper will help me navigate the new economy in a much more powerful position.

If you work very hard, have a good plan, offer valuable products or services, and do what Prosper teaches you, then it is possible to achieve the success you dream about.  It may not happen in 6 months or a year, but if you persevere and continue to refine your skills, you will put yourself in the best possible position.  Remember this, there are no guarantees in life that protect you from your own lack of effort or solidify your own belief that you can succeed.

Couple Realizes Dream Thanks to Support and Knowledge from Coach!

There are just not enough words to tell you how much my coach and Prosper have helped Guy and I with our website and retirement dream.  When we made the commitment to sign up with Prosper, we were both a bit apprehensive that we had taken on more than we could handle.  After all, neither one of us was “internet savvy.”  In fact we were both “scared” to venture out into the big world of the internet.  While the CD’s, articles, books and the Prosper Web page are all very valuable resources, the most important resource we received was in our time spent with our coach.

Our coach’s compassion, patience, and encouragement have given us the confidence that we too can be successful in an e-commerce business.  Furthermore, his knowledge, understanding and teaching skills has given us valuable tools so that we are not afraid anymore.  Not to mention the ability for us to be competitive in a very competitive market.

When we began, Guy and I knew how to send and receive emails and research a few things, but for the most part we were clueless.   Our coach gave us a crash course in a foreign language, so that we are able to avoid the pitfalls and costly mistakes that ignorance befalls.  In other words, he has taught us the foreign language of E-vocabulary with real meaning.  As a result, we now have a professional E-commerce business which has invited Fortune 500 businesses as customers.   While we still have a great deal of learning to do, we are ever grateful for our coach’s ability to coach us step by step with patience and a sense of humor.

With Your Assistance, My Goals Were Easily Accomplished

I have to admit I was skeptical at the beginning of this program. However, I realized it was critical for me to take a step if I wanted to come even close to achieving any of my goals. So with faith, conviction and commitment I decided to do the Prosper internet program, with minimal if any internet knowledge.

With your approach, wanting to know me as a person and not just another student, you helped me immensely, eliminating much of skepticism. I had no idea what was out there in the internet world. What an eye-opening experience!

I was amazed at all the different sites you sent me to for information and knowledge. At first I thought you were reading from a script. (Realize, of course, you were not). Using the tools you introduced me to I was able to intelligently determine a product to market. The domain name was a bit of a challenge. Again, with your able assistance, that goal was easily accomplished. With your explanation of hosting and where to go to get that done, I soon had a domain name registered and hosted in an efficient manner.

The real challenge then became marketing the site, at which you appear to be wizard. I was apprehensive to take this step, but finally got the hang of it with your patience, support and encouragement. The intricacies of title tags, alt tags, keywords, keyword phrases and submission descriptions seemed like a forest I would never see the trees in. Again, you persisted and got me to where I need to be with those marketing tools.

One-On-One Coaching Helps Utah Man Work Smarter

I was living life by scrapping by. Pay check to pay check. Struggling to make ends meet. I saw this program and decided to do something to change my situation. I believed it could help me. I enrolled in the program and started learning how to make money with e-commerce. I started learning about market research and finding products to sell. It took a little while to find something that I could do well with and be interested in. After that I applied the strategies that my coach taught me and created a really nice looking web page. He taught me how to get it noticed and get traffic to my Page. After a week I was able to see my web page in the number 6 slot on the first page of Google for my key word.

The goals that I have are to continue to follow the strategies and advice of my coach, finish setting up my page so I can start making money with my business, stay on the first page of Google with my key word, make it on the first page of Google with other keywords, get out of debt, and provide a better life for my family. Prosper Coaching Gives Student the Tools to Create Web Store Dream

I look at where I was in December, and where I am now at the end of February.  My life and my attitude of the future have totally changed for the better.  Although I am no longer young and am rapidly approaching retirement age, and am in a dead-end job that I figured I would stay with until I retired, I am now looking forward to the very near future of being able to be totally self-sufficient and free of my dead-end job.

I have a full-time job, and also my husband and I are vendors at Native American pow-wows where we sell silver jewelry as well as beads and other items that pertain to Native Americans.  Many people had asked if my silver jewelry was on-line but I would have to tell them no.  I had created a web store that had several items but no silver jewelry.  My web store was so obscure that it basically received very little hits.  I am an average web-surfer, but knew nothing of how to build a website.  HTML code was totally a foreign language to me.  I had once made an attempt to build a website but because none of it made sense to me I got discouraged and discontinued the project.  I knew a person could make money on the internet, I knew others were doing it, I just did not know how.

What made the change for the future was I responded to an email from EMI regarding making money on the internet.  Later on that week I received a phone call from Prosper asking me to enroll in their program.  When I enrolled, I never dreamed I, myself, would be able to build a website of my own, and at the time I had no idea what I would sell on my site.  My coach has guided me every step of the way.  From helping me to think of a name for the web business to helping me in the decision to sell my Native American silver, to teaching me about linking and all the other aspects of having a good website that gets on the front page of Google.  I would not have been able to do it without my coach and Prosper.  It has not been easy because of the big learning curve of getting up to speed with computers, the time sacrifice in order to allow enough time to complete this project, as well as working full-time, going to pow-wows on weekends, etc.  I do not consider the time sacrifice a chore but a privilege knowing I am doing something to better myself and my family.  Looking at what I have accomplished, I believe anyone could do this (regardless of their age) if they have the desire to succeed and the proper training of how it is done.  I know none of this would have been possible for me if it was not for Prosper.  Thank you Prosper for my new future.

My experience with Prosper has gone very well.  Working with my coach in the internet coaching program has been a very positive experience.  He is a good teacher and has been able to show me the necessary steps and provide me with information that has been invaluable in starting my own website.

Our Internet Coach's Knowledge is Outstanding

Rob and I cannot put into words how thankful we are at having being given the opportunity to be coached in our undertakings with Prosper Inc, Internet Business.  Rob and I had already started a web base business when we were introduced to Prosper, but we had many problems and were not going forward in our business approach.

Our coach’s knowledge of the web marketing tools is outstanding and the way he conveys this knowledge to fledglings is unprecedented.  He doesn’t make you feel inferior when you ask questions, but always has answers and usually many different suggestions on how to accomplish what ever your initial goal was that generated the question.

We are still learning from the many different topics and tools that our coach exposed us to, and we feel confident that our web base business will be more successful because of his coaching.  He always reminded us to not wait for our weekly telephone conference calls, but to call or email him with any questions that we had throughout the week, and his short response time gave us the continued support that we needed for our business to be successful.

From Prosper Skeptic to Life-Long Prosper Fan

I recently suffered a severe illness which required 2 years rehabilitation and forced me into early retirement. I then urgently looked around for the best ways to earn an income from home. I don't believe the get rich quick schemes so set out to acquire the skills to run an online business.

I went to another coaching company first but they were not good at all. It became obvious that they were mainly reading from scripts, they couldn't answer my questions and I soon began to realize some of their advice was blatantly wrong.

I had gotten my fingers burned and I was very skeptical when I first approached Prosper, but what a difference!! - The first time on the site I was presented with pages of resources on all aspects of my chosen course as well as access to material in other related subjects. The student care is excellent; when I telephone they are always professional, polite and helpful. I also have access to Resource Centre staff who will answer my technical questions on an ongoing basis. And all this is provided IN ADDITION to my Coaching Sessions.

My Coaching sessions were always delivered promptly and at the agreed time. This was pretty important as I live in the UK in a totally different time-zone. My coach was friendly and efficient in his delivery and was always ready and more than able to answer my questions. My coach, himself, has a number of successful websites as I understand all the coaches do, so coaching is not just an academic interest, he's been there, done that, and he knew exactly where I'm was coming from and how to help me with all aspects of the business.

I had a particular need to attract more traffic and get decent rankings in the search engines. In a very short time my coach has taken me from the basics of on page and off page optimization through to more advanced techniques. I am now seeing my site appearing on the first page of some search engines for some of my keywords and I know exactly what to do to repeat the process for my other keywords.

My goal during the course has always been to achieve, first, - a basic income, and then a very decent income, and to do this from home. I'm not there yet, but I'm on my way. I shall continue to use the Resource Centre and the Prosper website resources to support me in this goal.

I'm looking forward to achieving these goals which will enable me to recover my lifestyle which would be a huge plus for me and those close to me.

One of the nicest things that that the course enabled me to do was to build a website with interactive bulletin-board for the patients at the Rehabilitation centre that I had attended. I didn't earn any money but it made many people very happy, including me!

Business Owner Overcomes Obstacles to Find Success

I own/manage my own water/wastewater operations services company and have wanted to establish an internet related business for years so that I could have multiple streams of income and hopefully retire early. I have dabbled in a few Internet-related businesses; however, I was an amateur trying to create a web page and attempting to advertise. I signed up for the Prosper system to overcome the previous obstacles in using the Internet and I wanted to get serious about making money and providing the multiple income streams. It has been great working with my coach as he was able to provide teaching relative to my needs and at a correct pace.

Midway through the “course” I had him change courses as I became involved in a program and needed assistance with marketing. He provided great insight into methods I didn’t know existed. He was extremely flexible in working with me, as some weeks did not allow proper preparation on my part. He would adjust to that and provide additional information that could assist me in my current or future internet pursuits. I feel comfortable contacting him to answer any questions or to review articles or ads before publishing. I look forward to continuing support even after the coaching period is over.

I Turned to Prosper and Their Expert Staff

I found myself stuck... with many dreams to keep me going and motivated to plan a different path; but without a clear idea as to how to accomplish and put in motion my plan, I turned to Prosper and their expert staff.  Prosper was able to help me set clear and concrete goals in order to get to where I eventually want to be. A Great Experience On eBay

WOW!  How can I relate in one email what I've gained over the last several weeks?  I've learned a lot about many things--selling on E-bay (or sometimes not selling), searching E-bay for elements I can use in doing  my art work, then selling it on E-bay, Spiritual Warfare (I had a lot of opposition from the enemy) , feedback, using Papal.  So many things!

I have learned to have confidence in my abilities again--abilities I once used to organize a whole Student Loan Program for our local Community College, to raise 3 kids, to teach 5th and 6th graders at our Church School (kids who were determined NOT to learn anything from me and ended up being 'my kids').  Somewhere along the way I had lost my self-confidence, but through this program I have found that "old dogs CAN learn new tricks".  I just never imagined it would be on a computer. I have lived for 58 years and was raised in a time when computers weren’t even thought of. 

When I left my job at the Carl Albert State College in l981 we were just getting computers to use at the college.  I had to take a class in computer programming since I was on the Administrative Staff.  I was terrified and confused about what a computer was all about. At that time I had my third miscarriage since I had worked at Carl Albert and made the decision that my two kids at home were more important than a job.  I was so happy that I had made the decision to quit my job to stay home and raise my kids as a full time Mom.  Little did I know that computers were in my future and I was actually going to learn to have confidence that I could indeed use computers competently.  (Thanks coach!)

I've learned a little about marketing and "touting my own wares".  I have, thus far, learned a lot about building a web page and found out how much there is I just didn't know about building a web page! I've been excited, then depressed, then (thank goodness) excited again.

I have gotten great experience on E-bay.  I now know how to find the "deals" and how to bid on them.  I'm not sure how much that will profit me in the future but it sure was fun!

Again, I say WOW!  Can't wait for the next lesson I will learn on my way to my GREAT SUCCESS!!!  (Thanks coach; thanks Prosper learning!)

We Are On the Road to Where We Want to Be

We are very thankful that we have been given the opportunity to be coached in our endeavors with Prosper. When we first became involved, there was the anxiety and nervousness that is inbred when confronting something new and unknown. Along with that, whenever someone said, “internet”, shivers would run up and down our backs because we really never understood the potential that it holds. That feeling disappeared the first moment that we started talking with our coach and he explained in detail about his internet coaching role.  He has the knowledge and inside track that enabled us to feel that we could and would be successful. Looking back now at what we have learned, we know that we would still be at the starting gate because of the lack of understanding and the lack of initiative in stepping forth into new horizons. As you can guess, all of these negatives were erased in a very short time and we know that we are on the road to where we want to be.

There still are some not so easy times happening because we are still learning and our coach seems to want to drive us pretty hard, but with the ability to ask for and receive help just about any time that we need it, we have overcome those situations. We appreciate the short response time and we really are thankful that we are depending on someone that is doing exactly what we want to do. We feel that our coach has made these strategies specifically for us and our up-coming business, but we do realize that he is using with us, what works. Prosper Helps Reform Life Challenged by Many Changing Facets

Encouragement, that's what was needed in my life more than anything. Just emerging from a divorce with 2 kids involved and losing a business I had been in for 20 plus years, direction and encouragement was probably one of the more important issues in my life. That's where Prosper Learning entered the picture. After looking, searching and looking some more I came across the Prosper Learning concept and it seemed to have all the components I was looking for and over the next several months with their concept and coaching/materials the future started looking up. I Am Very Satisfied with Prosper's Coaching Program

I have learned the structure of a properly administered and marketed website. The power of the individual tools has been an eye-opener, press releases, writing articles, joint ventures, e-mail campaigns, they all work together nicely. I started a branded, private labeled, health product site. I started getting sales within 3 months of the inception of the idea. Now, 3 months later, I am consistently selling product, have begun wholesaling the product and am using o.p.m. to make a direct response 60 sec TV infomercial about the product that will air regionally one year after starting with Prosper. Prosper Coach Provides Retirement Plan to Student

In December of last year, just prior to retiring from my job as a probation officer with the State of Hawaii, I received an e-mail from Prosper Learning. I was just going to dump it but, my husband said to go ahead and give it a try. I was assigned to a coach and things were off and running. By the beginning of January, I was speaking weekly with my coach and preparing for a two month trip to the mainland. As my coach and I continued our weekly conversation, I discovered that I knew very little about the workings of internet sales and marketing. Things began to get a little difficult, as I was traveling every day and never knowing if I would have internet service to keep up with my homework. I was beginning to get very frustrated and was wondering what on earth did I get myself into and how would I recoup my investment. I was wondering if I would need to return to full time employment and at the same time missing all of the diversity and excitement of my former employment. My coach was great. He was patient with all of my problems including several weeks of illness upon my return to Hawaii and the remodeling of our bathroom. I don’t think that I would have been able to make through the transition from work to retirement without his help. He kept me focused and he taught me so many new things. He was always ready to answer my questions and never made me feel incompetent. As a former school teacher, I could see that my coach is great teacher and coach.

EBay Coaching Helps Family Turn Clutter into Cash

As e-bay customers for the last few years, we have often thought that we should start selling too.  But, not really knowing where or how to go about it, we just never seemed to get around to trying.  Then, our personal mentor encouraged us to start listing just a few items a week, and he told us how to find out what would sell and how to determine opening bid amounts.

We listed five items the first week, and we sold them all!  Considering these were just items lying around the house, we accomplished two things.  We started clearing out some of our unwanted clutter, and we made money.

That first week’s success hooked us.  Since then, we’ve listed at least 5 items a week, and some weeks we listed as many as twenty-five.  The clutter around our house has continued to decline, and our earnings have added up.

We have sold more than 50 items in the past 2 ½ months, and we’ve learned so much from the experience, that we’re experiencing greater success each week.  We now know which days are the best days to list on and other little tricks that make our auctions more likely to get multiple bids and higher selling prices.  Most of the items we sell are items we already own but no longer want; items we might have just thrown away if we hadn’t learned to sell on e-bay.  But, we’ve also become much more aware of the selling potential of ‘bargains’ that we come across whenever we’re shopping.

We recently purchased an item at a live auction for $2.00 that we were able to list on e-bay and sell for $18.50.  We made an incredible 825% profit!  But, that was not our best success.  We also found items in a clearance room of one of our favorite stores that we were able to sell on e-bay for more than 1500% profit.

We have had some of our purchases fail to sell on e-bay, but rather than give up on these items entirely, we recently found an open-air market where it is free for vendors to set up.  So, we’ll be packing our surplus items up and selling them on Saturdays.

E-bay is just the beginning of our success story.  We’ve also built a web site and started our own e-commerce business under the guidance of our mentor.  The sales for our website are just starting to roll in, but with a $200 sale from a single customer within the past week, we have total faith that we’re heading in the right direction; toward success and financial freedom!

My Coach Kept Up with the Latest SEO News

I always knew that the internet was a potential gold mine. I bought e-books and subscribed to many newsletters promising to show me all of the secrets to making real money online. Most of these gurus left me with more questions than when I first started. I tried to create a website based on affiliate marketing and even tried Adsense. After everything I tried to make money online, I still came up short and I spent a lot more money than I had made.

When I started the coaching program, I realized that I had to learn to crawl before I could walk. I was showed how to do research to find a good market and we concentrated on areas in which I had interest. The coaching sessions were progressive and very personal. The sessions were oriented to my level of experience and my needs. 

My coach shared information and knowledge with me that would have taken countless hours of research and money to have learned on my own. As everyone knows, things are always changing in technology and SEO is no different. My coach continued to keep up with the latest SEO news and passed this knowledge on.

I created a website which has over 1400 products and specializes in aquarium products. I was able to create this site, build quality links through different promotions and start receiving orders all within a few short weeks of starting this course.

Over the next few weeks I plan to continue to aggressively promote my site with everything I have learned and to be in the top 5 in Google for my niche. I plan to continue my education and to continue to increase my sales each day. I hope to create more sites in the future and to replace my 9-5 income.

Prosper Learning is a Successful Tool for Setting Up an Online Business

Prosper Leaning has proven to me to be a very useful tool for setting up an online business. I started with prosper a few months ago and have learned a great deal from them since then.

Since I new nothing about the internet to start with, they had to start teaching me the very basics of how to use it. My mentor…has taught me the basics of how to navigate around the internet. He has also taught me how to get set up with my own business, starting with how to get a business license. I found out I didn’t need one and all I needed was a resellers permit. In my state these are free.

I then started to get busy on setting up. I was shown how to get my own website and set it up and how to get hosting and how to find legitimate sources for the products to be displayed on the site. I had no previous knowledge of any of this so the school has been an extremely valuable tool.

The next phase was marketing where I learned how to create a blog, submit to directories and to write articles to get recognized by the public. I was also shown how to use social media and place ads for even more exposure.

The resource line as well as my personal coach is where all of my questions were answered and still are. All of those little questions that pop up during my initial set up were answered by Mike and the staff at prosper. Beau, Curtis and Lisa were extremely helpful and took the time to explain all of the questions I had about hosting, website design, article submission, blogging, how to sell on ebay and more.

I also had access to their virtual college were I can still go to learn even more through their group coaching sessions and archived calls. I have access to all of the course curriculum through the other avenues they offer.

I have opened for business recently and have already been getting traffic to my site and expect sales soon. I know if I have any more questions the answer is either a phone call or click of the mouse away.

I would definitely recommend Prosper to my friends, family or anyone who is interested in starting their own business. Thank you very much Prosper, I now believe I can have a beneficial retirement plan with my website and plan on developing another site in the future… The sky is the limit!!

This Has Been the Most Amazing Journey

This has been the most amazing journey! I awake each day excited to get going again—there is such an excitement and joy being able to finally live my passions—-AND to have a team of experts assisting me along the way! (In fact, I'm even dreaming my business now…so it's honestly a 24/7 effort.) My journey began with a dream of being able to pursue my passion of writing and songwriting. I tried an MLM company and spent 3 months pursuing that (learned quite a bit), but the timeline was much to slow (I have tons of energy!), and it felt as if I was STILL dividing my time between what I HAD to do and what I LOVED to do. I began reading Cracking the Millionaire Code by Robert Allen and was immediately convinced that I needed to turn my passions into a business venture—surely there were 10,000 other women out there wanting to tell their life stories, I thought. And then it all began…I got stumped on one of the codes in his book, and stewed over it for 4 days (the calendar code, in case you're wondering) and finally 'gave in' and went on-line to see if I could find some help. And BOY did I ever! One thing led to another and, before I knew it, I was going through the phone interview process with Prosper. Although my funds were running dry, I knew this was now-or-never time for me and I refused to give way to never. So I began my journey with your company.

I had already decided on my business—a website offering services, products, and a community where women could TELL the stories of wisdom from their lives. I'd already been 'given' the name for my site—I grabbed the domain name days before I ever began your interview process… (Of course, one of the many helpful things I've learned is how to go about things like that a better way! but in that instance the timing was not my own.)

I was accepted into your program and haven't been the same since! My coach is wonderful, bringing expertise and top-notch guidance, to-the-point answers and tons of encouragement, each and every step of the way. He learned quickly that I'm a ball of energy and has stepped up the pace in such an exhilarating way that I think we're both amazed with all that's getting accomplished. But he is also very precise and tasks me with essential and critical items, not allowing my overabundant enthusiasm steer us off course. He was the perfect match for my website. I am very grateful for him and look forward to our calls each week.

I have built a team around me—we are dividing and conquering. I'm the visionary and CEO, I have delegated all web-design tasks but do all of the homework, reading, audio coaching, research, etc. in order to be directing and shadowing the effort all along the way. I am also phasing in my business with a series of children's stories to generate funds so I can launch my website narrow but deep. (Don't forget about the Cracking The Millionaire Code—I intend to not only be a success story for myself, my charity, my customers, but also Prosper and Robert Allen—that was and is my goal and IF it can be accomplished, I WILL accomplish it!) I work daily with my illustrator. The first book is nearly ready to go…and in a big way—Nate has helped me identify and prepared me to implement a great marketing plan, has tailored my blog and website with anchor links, steered me to email campaigns, as well as a multitude of advertising opportunities. I've created added value items…oh, I could go on and on, BUT the one thing, so far (because I know each day will hold more and more delicious tidbits to report on) that has happened that is really big…are you ready? (Nate just loved hearing this one…) is that I have identified and am currently working with an award-winning doll-maker who has agreed to name one of their 2007 dolls in honor of the character in my children's book series! Yep! One of them will be Saijin! And, she will be advertised on my site.

Well, that was just enough, I hope, to wet your appetite. I look forward to the rest of the journey with you and the rest of your team at Prosper…y'all (not born in Texas, but got there quick as I could) remind me of the Verizon commercials—coming out from behind trees and buildings…a NETWORK of support. We Have Already Doubled Our Sales within One Month

Starting our E-business in 1996 as an entrepreneur in selling Tailor-made Honeymoon/Anniversary Packages to the South Pacific through the Internet only, we already thought we had a great web-page that generated almost 2 million in sales. However, through the constant changing of Search-Engines and marketing behaviors we found ourselves struggling more and more every year to keep our sales up and saw our great Search-Engines listings disappearing into Nowhere-land. Working with Chris, gave me a complete different perspective how to see our site and how we are able to improve it. Already minor changes, he suggested, helped us within 2 days to double our quote requests. Working with him over a couple of weeks, we improved the site to a point, where I cannot get enough just looking at it... it's fantastic. This Program Gives You an Idea of What is Required to Make Your Business a Success

Five months ago, when I signed on to become a Prosper Inc. student, I didn’t clearly comprehend how much time and effort I would have to invest in this process. My only goal at the time was finding a way to generate money from home using the internet. And while I have yet to see any return on my huge financial investment, I do have a better understanding of how this process works and how it can be successful if used effectively.

I underestimated the enormous benefit of listening to the group coaching sessions provided in the library section of Prosper Inc.. There is so much valuable information and tips within these sessions and also expands on any ideas/suggestions discussed during the weekly one-on-one coaching session. At the very least, it gives you an idea of what is required to make your business a success.

I’ve also learnt the importance of article submissions and press releases. Had I known this was going to be required of me would I have signed up for the program? Or would I have picked a different product? I don’t know, but I would advise all future students to really be comfortable with their product of choice, because before all is said and done you will become an expert on it.

I can now comfortably discuss "SEO", keywords, and anchor text as well as URLs.

As I’ve said before, I have yet to make any money from this program and my website. However, I can take a look back and recognize what I have accomplished and use this as a platform for further improvement.

New Doors Have Opened for Me

When I signed up for Prosper’s two year course, I never new that would be the year I would be opening up my own internet store.  My website is called urnsforcreation.com…my experience with Prosper has given me the opportunity to set up my own business at my own speed while still continuing to meet the commitments required by my full time job.  New doors have opened for me, knowledge is a wonderful thing.  I’m preparing myself to function in a world that is internet powered. 

I can’t believe how many people allow themselves to become marginalized and become obsolete.   Guess what?  I’ll never be obsolete.  I have been challenged to such a degree that when I first started with Prosper I saw myself retiring within 7 to 10 years.  After about 9 months, I adjusted my retirement to 5 years.  Today, I’m wanting to retire in about 2 years and it does not seem to me to be such an unrealistic proposition.  Ask me next year, perhaps I’ll be retired by then.

This Past Week I Made $600 Profit and Got One Internet Order

From Internet Novice to Movin' and Shakin' in the Right Direction

A note of thanks for your support and help in the last 90 days, as my Wife and I have gone from internet novice to movin' and shakin' in all the right directions! As you probably recall with some pain we did not know much, even basic stuff has been a real challenge. I first met with you in the first week of Sept. and began from scratch to formulate a plan and develop multiple streams of income from the Internet. I have also sold 4 scooters at $138.90 profit ea. and prospects look good for more so we have decided to go pick up a shipment of scooters to keep a handle on the cost and actually see the product before I place a large order, so next week my wife and I head for Calf.

Amazed at the Amount of Quality Information in a Short Amount of Time

I Never Would Have Learned this On My Own

I just want to thank you for all you have been doing for me.  Even though my e-commerce store isn't quite ready to fly, I have a lot to be greatful for.  I have been learning so much about things that I would NEVER have been able to figure out by myself.   Right from the beginning, you showed me about meta words and how to utilize them.  I didn't even know what "meta words" were.  I have learned some about HTML and how it works. I Am Leaps Ahead of Where I Used to Be

I started this program very discouraged about my life situation.  I am in a dead end job and have been for 10 years.  I have tried to move up in the ranks but have had little success.  The atmosphere that I am around at work is not the best in the world and I have continually told myself that "I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL, NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES.  I AM AN OVERCOMER AND IT IS NOT A MATTER OF 'IF' BUT 'WHEN' I GET THERE."  I am in personal debt and I want to first eleviate the stress and strain of being owned by the ones I am indebted to.  I am tired of making someone else rich, it is time for me to take life by the horns and do it for myself but not by myself.

I have learned, through the coaching program, the how to's of building my own website and how to have another source of income.  I am still developing and polishing my sight, but I know that it will get there.  I have contacted some individual to develop my own dream team and, Lord willing, start meeting with them mid to late June.  I am excited about having a support group of like minded christian men that I can grow with and start developing a network in making myself an enlightened millionaire.  I have set a goal of making 1 million dollars in 2 years.  This is a BIG goal but the answer is only as big as the question asked.  Prosper and Robert Allen have made a HUGE difference in how I look at the situation that I am in right now.  Granted I am not making piles of money yet but I have faith that soon I too will be under the spout where abundant blessings are poured out.

I have taken advantage of the time of my commute to and from work to listen to "Cracking the millionaire code" and "The one minute millionaire" books on audio CD.  These books have enriched my life more than I had ever thought they would.  I want to be one of the biggest success stories that Robert Allen has had and be a testimony to the enlightened way of doing business.  One day I want to meet Robert Allen and thank him myself for all that he has done for me.  I hope and pray that I can be an inspiration to others to break the mold of capitalism today and help usher in a new era of enlightened business practices.

I have started strive to take care of the 3 B's in my life: BEING, BRAIN, & BODY.  I still have a long way to go but I am leaps ahead of where I used to be and miles ahead of where I would have been had I not done anything at all.  The cost of this program has put a strain on my life, financially, but consistantly reminding myself that it is an investment into my future and into the legacy that I will leave to my children makes the burden seem a little lighter.  Thank You.

I Have Changed the Way I Look at the Internet

I Got the Help I Needed from My Coach

I have became more and more familiar with HTML codes. I have built my website with the help of my coach and I know I am going to be successful with my product selection.  By helping me stay focused with having my own coach checking up on me on a weekly basis.
 
I learn how to create and build a business from scratch, and continuing to ensure that all the requirements are to get where I need to get with my business. I know that I am on the right track. I have a great mentor. He is as passionate about being successful as I am. I know that before this mentorship program ends, I will be where I need to be to get my business up and running.

I've Been Getting a Steady Stream of Sales through My Site

It's been a few months since the last conference call with my mentor and things have progressed at a steady clip. Using all the tools I learned about while talking with Chris has helped me to position my site on the first page on most major search engines, and I've been getting a steady stream of sales though the site. LeathermanPlace.com has been my pride and joy for the last few months, with me devoting a significant amount of time promoting, and improving the site even more to help with its SEO. Without the help of Chris Handy, and later Chris Bennett, I don't think the site would be doing as well as it is. It is to their credit that LeathermanPlace.com is as popular as it is, and that the new site, LeathermanPlace.ca is well on it's way to reality. Also, thanks to them, I've been able to look at other opportunities for e-commerce success, keeping my niche market my core market, and supplying similar items on similar themed sites.

SUCCESS UPDATE

As for the numbers, LeathermanPlace.com has garnered a little over 500$ in sales over the past 7 months. It's growing, but not at it's peak yet. I expect things to pick up over the next few months as Google starts to recognize us, and an ad campaign starts in some fishing/hunting sites over the next few weeks.

The Foundation Prosper Provided Definitely Got Our Business Off the Ground

We went live with the new site, www.goosedowncomforterproducts.com, on 10/20/2006 after dropping the word Hungarian from it. We have added pillows and Egyptian Cotton Sheet sets in late November, To date we have sold approximately $2000.00 in products; some comforters, some sheet sets and one order of pillows.

We have managed to get on page one of Google with the search term Goosedown Comforters. All of the orders that we've received to date have originated from Google. Our Google PR is 2, low I know but it didn't exist until 2 weeks ago. We belong to 27 web rings and have 33 back links. Getting the back links is the most difficult thing to succeed at. I've made trading requests to 150 other sites and they moistly just let the requests expire after two months

The foundation that you and Prosper Learning provided to us definitely got this business off the ground and now we are working on growing it. I'll be redesigning some of the web pages during the next two weeks, hopefully to put more life and compelling sales messages into them without impacting the content; as the content is what helped us get on page one of Google.

I'm also looking for additional suppliers as the exclusive US Distributor for the Hungarian Company doesn't carry much stock.

The One-on-One Coaching Appealed to Me

About ten months ago I got involved with a company that set me up with ten web sites. With no knowledge of the world wide web I found myself plugging along and getting no where. I was having trouble in getting the company to respond to my submitted tickets. Some times it would take days for a response, with those days waisted. Then I received a phone call from Prosper, I decided I would invest in the program. The thing that appealed to me most was the one on one teaching. They assigned Mat Siltala as my coach. The first time I spoke with him I knew I had made the right decision. He was willing to work with the ten sites I already had up, which was what I thought I wanted. I soon realized with the knowledge Mat was teaching me that maybe I was going in the wrong direction.

Mat showed me how to search for keywords the correct way and how to submit my sites to the link directory. Several weeks into the program I found out the different types of marketing, and realized the sites I already had would probable not be my bread and butter. Thats when we decided it would be in my best interest to go a whole new direction. Now I am learning a new marketing skill and looking forward to being one of Mats success stories for prosper.

Number One on Google and Yahoo with One Keyword Phrase

When I started the Prosper program, I had already had a website for over a year, but had very little success getting it noticed by search engines or consumers. Recently I developed a new product to market on my website. Using the tools my coach taught me during my 12 personal coaching sessions, I developed a page on my website for the product, along with subsidiary pages of related information and wrote and submitted my first publicty release on the product. Within 48 hours of submission the PR on my new product and new web page was number one on the Google and Yahoo search engines with one keyword phrase. In fact, it held spots one through four on Yahoo and was number four on Yahoo with a second keyword phrase. I am very pleased with the attention the new product page has drawn from Search engines and look forward to real success with the product.

I Am Growing in Confidence with the Knowledge Gained in Each Chapter and Session

I have been unemployed since the end of April this year and had been 'thinking about' starting my own home-based business. Being downsized gave me the impetus and the motivation to step out and finally do it. After a Few Months of Training Our Site Has Traffic from Different Parts of the World

When my wife and I started as a student of Prosper, we have no idea of Blogs and syndication, Press Releases, Article submission to internet directories, meta tag, doing business on Ebay, Search Engine Optimization and a lot more. Our next goal for the next few months is to dedicate more time and effort in continuing the marketing strategies by the use of directories by submitting blogs, press releases, article submission and submission of our site to various directories. One of the major goals that we wanted to achieved in the future is to help my wife to have an early retirement being a teacher by means of having more sales with our internet business with the help of Prosper and having a sales that can really support my entire family.

The entire program of our session with our mentor is really a big issue in terms of learning and improving ourself in relation to attitude, dedication and commitment. And because of this program, we are now looking forward to achieve our goals and future goals that we wanted as long as we follow the steps and the fundamentals of what we have learned with our mentor or with Prosper. The Success Center of Prosper site helps us to acquire all the information that we needed, and this will stay as one of the major references that we use for while we are in the process of establishing our internet business.

I Have Made My Website Much More Professional through Mentoring

I started out with limited knowledge of the internet, a web site that wasn't pulling in what I wanted it to. Now thanks to Nathan I have a much better understanding and have made my website much more professional as we work on it together I see it growing better and better. We Thank You For Being There For Us

My wife and I are over 65, I was let go from my position in August 2006, my wife still works at her job. We sat down to look at where we were and where we wanted to be. Our dream is to move back to the Northwest, state of Washington, but since we are not in a position to retire, we had to find something that we could do, make money at it, and take it with us to Washington.

I came across 'Multiple Streams of Income', the idea struck me that we could do this, maybe reach out and have a couple of businesses, that way we were not putting all our marbles in one basket. We chose to do the Ecommerce business, had no idea what we were going to sell on the internet, but we were determined to be successful. With the help of Prosper's coaching program, we were able to find something that made us comfortable in trying to market. We pushed ahead and learned what we could, found that we were slowing down the website process due to parts of the business we needed to get together, and they were not coming quickly. We are glad to say that we launched our website officially four months and three days from signing up for this program. The site could have started sooner, but we wanted all the details worked out to be sure we did not have to go back and do a lot of changes.

We have set some goals on a weekly basis to get our site out into the market, thanks to our coach and his input. We are going to miss our calls with our coach, it was something we looked forward to each week and learn more steps for website building, keyword phrases, information we had no idea was even out there.

We have put together a schedule for doing this business, one of which will check our orders, the toll free line, and our business e-mails. This does not include the writing articles and submitting to directories each week to expand our business. We have also scheduled time to use the resources of Prosper.

We made the first step yesterday, sent all our friends and family an e-mail ANNOUNCEMENT of our new site, invited them to look it over and that we would like them to share the site with their friends and family. The process is continuing as I am writing this.

We thank you for being there for us, and looking forward to being a success in this business.

My Internet Business Has Finally Taken Root and Blossomed

I wanted to follow up with you to let you know how thankful I am for all your help. My Internet business has finally taken root and blossomed. This past week I made $600 in profit and got my first Internet order! All of my other orders have come from local networking opportunities since I have joined the Chamber of Commerce. This membership resulted in several orders from other members who needed promotional products.

My marketing strategy of being the “low cost supplier” has worked marvelously. In this competitive industry, price talks. With almost no overhead, I can meet or beat anyone’s price. The orders are coming in on a regular basis now. I am to the point where I have to quit my part-time job and focus on BizImprintz exclusively.

I’ve rented a booth and will be attending a large B2B trade show next week. Your marketing ideas will result in dozens if not hundreds of leads. The future looks bright thanks to Prosper and a knowledgeable mentor. I could never have done this without you.

On a personal note, my family is happier than we have ever been. I have finally found the right level of balance in my competing responsibilities as a mother and a businesswoman. I Can Be Successful in My Own Online Business

In the past, I never thought I could be successful in the big world of online business. I thought there was No Way I could ever compete with the “Big Dogs” on the internet. Well, the education I received from this program has taught me that I CAN be successful in my own online business. Selling on E-Bay was something I wanted to do in the past, but didn’t know how to proceed. With the help of my coach, I was finally able to create and list several auctions on eBay and sold five of the items I listed. Wow, was I ever surprised. I also was able to sell three items on Craigslist as well.

My coach has shown me what needs to go into a website and how to make it appealing to people. I didn’t have a clue about finding products that customers would be interested in purchasing. Now I know how to research product popularity and where to find those products to place on our website. I will definitely be growing our website, www.LuggageSetsandSupplies.com, to no less than 100 products within a very short time.

The three-month goal I have set for our business is to earn enough money to pay all our utility bills through promoting www.LuggageSetsandSupplies.com via the avenues I have learned about during this program. I will also continue my education through curriculum provided on the Prosper website, including Coaching Sessions, Elective Classes, Graduate Calls, and the Resource Line. The goals I have set for our business during the coming year are: (1) for www.LuggageSetsandSupplies.com to make enough sales each month to pay our mortgage, and (2) to start at least one more website. My long-range goals are to replace my husband’s income within two years, and my own within five years. We will have a very long and prosperous retirement, all thanks to the success of our online business, which would not have been possible without Prosper, Inc.

I have learned so much these last couple of months that it would take multiple pages to describe. I knew absolutely nothing about blogging, search engine optimization, web directories, or social media. However, the one thing that has probably helped me the most, is the personal mentoring I received from my coach. Without his encouragement and our scheduled appointments, I never would have done the work. I would still be spinning my wheels in “information overload” mode. My coach gave me a place to start, held me accountable, and set me on the path to success.

eBay Has Changed My Life

I used to bore people with pictures of my grandkids but now I have pictures in my wallet of the giant gourds I am selling on eBay!!!  When my coach encouraged me to set up a sellers account on eBay four weeks ago, who knew that I would be getting up in the middle of the night because I couldn't wait until the clock goes off at day light to see if someone might be bidding on my gourds!!
 
My coach gave me some pointers but I have had to learn a lot by trial and error since I am an old lady and not too good on the computer!!  He had shown me how to research.  I went in and some of the things I had that I thought would be selling for a lot of money were only going for 99 cents!!  So I started racking my brain.  I told my husband,”there is something we have that we think nothing of and costs us nothing that people are buying!!”
 
I have been told before that when I get hold of a problem, I hang on and shake it like a bulldog!!  And that is what I did.  I decided I would think of something if it was the last thing I did!!  I was moving some things around in our old shed later on that week and had to move“ the gourds.”  The gourds are a long story.  My husband planted about a million-gourd seeds year before last and they all came up.  We transplanted gourd plants everywhere.  We had gourds hanging from every tree on our place.  We took gourds to the family members and they had gourds everywhere…Gourds of every shape and description…God is good.  At harvest time we put as many as we could in our barn and in our shed.  I strung hammocks and we filled them full to overflowing (some of these gourds weighted over 50 lbs before they dried!!).  I cursed the gourds!!  They stink when they are drying!!  I stopped going into the shed.  So I had almost forgotten the gourds…I thought, ”Why not see if they are selling on eBay.”  Lo and Behold!  They were and the giant ones for upwards of $10.00 each…I took pictures and put them in and wrote my little description.  Mat had told me to make my entry different, so I added instructions on planting the seeds inside!!  That did the trick.  They started getting bids that very night. It was the most exciting week!!!  Just to see those bids going up almost made my blood pressure rise!!  Sure enough, some of them sold for over $10.00.
 
But before the week was out, I thought to myself, ” why not sell gourd seeds!!”  A gourd will have two or three hundred seeds.  I put them up for bid as 50 seeds with instructions for planting them that I use for maximum results.  The bids came in and some of the packs went for as much as $4.25 plus shipping!!  I was up checking on my gourd seeds for sale last night and did a little more research.  Guess what!!  There was one offer for cottonseed…and it was selling.  I live right next to a 50-acre cotton field!!  As soon as I finish this article I am going out there and pick cotton!!  Can’t wait to get a picture and get them on eBay!!

In Two Weeks I Sold $3000 Worth of Products

I remember when I first started my website.  I only had a vague idea of what I wanted to do and what I wanted to sell.  My first idea (which I was willing to go into blindly because I enjoyed it) was body building and nutrition supplements.  When I told my coach that, he told me that it was a bit of an oversaturated market and would be difficult to compete in.  He then took the time to go over some things that WOULD be profitable that were in my interests.  I did the remainder of the research and built off that idea which lead to what I really enjoy, which is after-market performance for cars and trucks.  It was an area that I enjoyed and studied on frequently since I had previously sold cars, but the after-market perspective was something that I needed to gather more info on.  It was that interest in studying that made me want to know more and also gave me the drive to learn more and finish the site.

It was difficult at first with there being so many products to load, but I kept at it and at the same time, started testing the waters of eBay with the techniques that my coach had taught me.  I'd been selling odds and ends on eBay for several years before this, but the techniques that my coach taught me enabled me to make more of a profit and bring more traffic to my site at the same time.  I tried a few things on eBay and found the one product that works very well on it and also gave me some great profit from.

I would continue running auctions every week and found that I would answer e-mails continuosly throughout the day about what I had to offer and if I carried that particular part in a different model.  It was almost a full-time job!  It was definitely worth it, though.  On average, after fees and other costs, I was bringing in abuot $500 profit a week and selling several thousands of dollars worth of product.  One week where I decided to spend a little more money to advertise my products on eBay's homepage (about $40 for a 5-day auction) I had several people come to both my auctions and my site.  In two weeks, I sold over $3000 worth of products on my site and depleted my entire inventory from my auctions, which made me a very nice profit of almost $2000 for myself.  I have since been keeping up on my site working on other marketing techniques, both online and offline, to bring more individuals to my site.  I am working on building a forum of my own for automotive performance talk and further promotion of my site.  I've found that just general talk about cars and performance on these forums (with a link to my site on my signature) has brought many visitors to my site as well as several group sales on particular items and have even received some e-mails about drop-shipping to others to get their sites up and running, which I look forward to.

I know it was the focus on one-on-one coaching that got me the success rate that I am at and know that I will continue to build upon what I've created to make new and profitable for others and myself.

Student Builds Business and Increases Sales

I have gone from about two people who ordered from me to over 20.  Things picked up last month.  I have also sold some items on eBay as well, one music box sold for close to $200 in an online auction, and a close second sold for over $70.  99% of my orders have come from ladies, and I have been able to talk to a few of them of them as well.

I think that the sales part is good, but what really is great is having a customer base that I can work on building a trusting relationship with. A person's having their own list just makes things easier. I even had one gentleman sign up for my newsletter on Monday. He was the first. I wasn't putting a whole lot of stock in the newsletter part, but I was proved wrong. So, things are finally looking up.

Online Tutoring Company Finds Success after a Few Short Weeks of Coaching

The first session with our coach was great. The work was simple. He wanted us to put together a list of 400 keywords for our site. Having gotten my B.A. in Liberal Studies, research was a key component in this major making establishing different form of keywords simple.

Another aspect of the assignment was how simple our coach was able to lay out the responsibilities. He gave us a website that made it fun to put a combination of words together and see if there were enough hits on the words. He set up the explanation in a manner that made it easy to follow. I found myself not wanting to disappoint him and rushing to finish the assignment.  I had this project finished within a day and emailed him our list asking for more to do. Our coach was able to give us little assignments to tide my ambition over until we met with him the following week.

Each week we would speak with our coach in our weekly sessions, I think I would email him at least 3 times a day with questions about what we had talked about or something I had stumbled upon while working on our site. Each assignment my husband and I would take with 110 %. If he asked for 3 press releases a month, we would do 5. Each assignment we saw as the greatest learning tool for our site. Here we were working with a personal coach who wanted our business to be a huge success and was handing us the “Secrets” of Internet advancement. The assignments were simple, but did require the 10-20 hours a week time commitment, which was requested when we bought the package.

Now, our business is up and running. We have been placed in over 200 sites in MSN, over 100 in Yahoo, and about 64 in Google, all over an 11-week span. Our coach emailed us that our rank was a 3 on Google. We were contacted by Channel 4 news within a month and asked to collaborate with the UEA. We will be presenting a power point presentation to them later this month. We have been talking with about 4 or 5 different companies that want to form a joint collaboration in putting our business in the classrooms and local libraries.

Within 10 weeks, we had been contacted by a School District in Northern California asking to place our tutoring service inside their classroom. A School District in which we had NO idea where they were located, and had to go to Map Quest to find out that information. We are working with a local Provo School in putting our tutoring service in their school. We are getting at least 15 emails a day with online businesses that are linking our site on to their site. It might not seem like a lot, but you have to remember that we still haven’t finish up all our coaching sessions yet, making our success less than 12 weeks in the making. It is really amazing how fast this is happening because we followed what our coach suggested.

Web-Preneur Achieves More than Expected after Enrolling in Prosper Coaching

Since starting to work with Prosper Learning I have achieved so much more than I expected.  My mentor couldn't have been more informative, helpful and easy to work with.  The knowledge regarding building my own website and working with eBay has been enormous.  Since I began, I now have a fully functional Website that is integrated with Paypal; it has an autoresponder, email accounts, and everything anyone would need to become successful. 

I've been selling items on eBay for approximately 2 months and I'm getting a great reputation.  I've sold 36 items that I found around the house that I didn't need anymore and I've received 28 positive feedbacks.  Hopefully, more will come in the next few days.  Once I get my own Store set up, there'll be no stopping me!  The use of how the internet works and how to manipulate Meta tags, keywords, titles, etc., have been invaluable to my business.  I know if I keep doing what I've been taught, there will be no end to the success I can achieve.

I Have Earned $8K So Far in E-Commerce

I have had successes in two major areas during my coaching sessions. I have earned almost $8,000 on eBay and Craigslist, and learned a great deal about marketing on the internet with the first step of getting a website almost completed coming along well. This has been a tremendous confidence builder and has given me a great deal of incentive to continue the learning and the work. This is a new business area for me so I feel that I have made a great amount of progress.

My early goals included earning back the amount of the program before finishing coaching sessions and that was quite easily achieved. I also have a good and increasing understanding of internet marketing and sales.

In the next three months I will have my website rolling along with expected earnings of about $5,000 per month. This will be in addition to my sales on eBay and Craigslist as I have also been working on earning sales via resales of e-books, and items found on affiliate sites. This is a particularly exciting aspect and I look forward to also continuing to listen to recorded classes at Prosper. These are an excellent portion of the program and I highly recommend that students not miss out on their value and teaching. Longer term, I plan to have a retirement income that will significantly increase my existing pension.

I will travel, have extra capital for shopping and hosting friends that come to visit. These are expected to mean that I will retire earlier, perhaps in as little as 5 years vs. the previously planned 10 to 15!!

I will keep in touch with my mentors over the long term as their support and knowledge will continue to be very important in my business and life. Other valuable aspects of the personal mentoring are that these areas of new learning are very exciting and would not have come to be of so much value to me in this short period without the assistance and especially the responsibility and commitment to the program that comes with having invested in the mentoring.

The ability to earn a tremendous income without a great deal of time working is exciting and certainly would not have even been on my radar screen without this investment. While we all have to work to make this work, it is more than returned in the learning and in the additional income streams. I Went from Unemployment to Working on Contracts Worth $4600 in 6 Weeks

When I started trying to figure out how to make a living on the internet, I was unemployed, borrowing money, and oblivious to what it took to be a businesswoman.  I was earning $0 at the time, filling out surveys to try to pick up a little cash.  I felt like a victim, stuck in my circumstances with no way out.  I have two handicapped children who need me, so I can't get out and work in a normal job.  Then came hope born of desperation.

Facing Fear

In December last year, just before Christmas, I was laid off from the Construction Industry at first I was distraught as I will turn 60 this year and the housing industry is really low.  Well all my life I said that if I could put as much time into something for myself as I do working for someone else I would be happy and much more successful.  I attended an internet seminar and ended up investing in Storesonline.  From there the calls started coming in from all kinds of people selling all kinds of services. 

Well I have since incorporated, signed on with tax help and documentation help, but I was still uneasy and very fearful and struggling for SEO and not doing well and I was worrying about all the funds I invested.  UNTIL the day Prospering called me.  At first I was unsure because so many people had been calling me, my head was spinning.  I asked for a weeks time to investigate who and what Prospering was.  The person was very understanding and gave me some info to think about for the next week.  When they returned a call to me as scheduled I made the decision to invest further only this time in knowledge and coaching.  After being accepted I went to the website and started printing out some classes because I was too anxious to wait for my manual.  When I read through the first one or two lessons, the FEAR I was feeling started to take a back seat as the excitement of what I was finally figuring out started to get me very excited.

I came across a quote that I have since framed and put in my office.  "Fear knocked on the door, Faith answered there was no one there."  I am so excited about my internet success with the proper coaching and determination on my part it is a win win situation.  As I am still in my first week of Prospering I will keep posting all my successes in case there is someone who is not sure if the added investment is worth it, I hope my encouragement and new added sense of well being comes across for you.

Another Good Week in eBay Sales

I had another good week in eBay sales. I sold 9 more inverters. The batteries and chargers aren't selling as well as the inverters, but I keep listing them and trying. I keep putting a few of each thing into the fixed price listing and the rest just as store inventory and that keeps the cost down a bit. I also have 100% positive feedback and I'm up to 26 people who have left feedback for me. I guess you get a different colored star when you hit 50, so that's what I'm striving for now.

I also got my products listed in Shopzilla finally and they are also on Google and Wensy. I'm hoping Shopzilla brings more people to my website. That would be nice.

The class today was very good. I played around with my logo in paint, since I don't have photoshop, and I'm still not sure about changing it. I like my little igloo. Maybe you could change the font in the header and send it to me and I'll see how that looks. I'm using the header in all of the different sites and setting up stores with that header and name. So, I will have to change all of them if we change the one on my website.

I was able to put alternate text into the 4 pictures on my home page, but sitecreator won't let me do it for the other pictures on the catalog pages. I'll have to call the resource line and see if they know of a way to do it. I was surprised no one else wanted to critique their websites. I found it very helpful.

I'm still looking for new suppliers and will have to wait and see what happens there.

$13K Sale on Craigslist

We recently purchased a new vehicle, and what they were going to give me for the trade in was too low, so I posted an ad on Craig’s List and sold it within a week for $13,250! It was honestly pretty effortless on my part, and I didn’t post a fancy ad at all, just the year, make, miles & price, not even a picture. So needless to say we’re pretty happy!

I Made $4,800 in Sales So Far

For my website the original goal was to do just weddings; however, since I’ve been able to expand using the internet, my goal is now to do daily florist business (birthdays, holidays) as well as weddings and events. Since setting up my website and marketing on Craigslist.org, along with offsite advertising, I’ve seen an increase in my business.

In the month of March I have had the following sales: Every Monday I deliver flower arrangements to two offices. They pay me $45 per week and I bill them monthly. I would love to get more of these! March had 5 Mondays so that is $225.x 2 = $450.

I also did a Wedding March 2nd for $1148.07. My daily sales for the 1st week were $326.00 On March 8th I provided event flowers for an event planner-eleven centerpieces for a total of $878.63.

Daily sales for the 2nd week were $510.00. I did another wedding March 15th; It was a small one for $345.00. My daily sales for the 3rd week, which included Easter, were $590.00. I also had daily sales during the 4th week of $649.00.

In all I brought in over $4800 in sales.

I Can't Believe the Success I Have Had in Such a Short Time

I started with Prosper at the beginning of January and I cannot believe the success I have had in such a short time. Honestly when I started I thought it would take me a lot longer to get my dream of a internet business off the ground.

I Have a Better Handle on Key Words

I have sold ten items from around the house out of the eleven that I put on the initial auction. I have re-listed the three items for this coming week and hope that they sell. I still have more items I can sell from around the house. Mainly these items were Lenox Treasure Boxes, a Cloisonne Vase, and a pair of Royal Coppenhagen porcelain robins.

As for the lingerie items, I put three items on, but for each two of them they came in different sizes so I have listed each item in each size. For example, the soft 2 piece baby doll outfit I listed one in Small, one in Medium, one in Large and one in X-Large. So listings of lingerie I have a total of nine items. The auctions end next week and I hope to get some bids.

As for my SEO rankings on my keywords I have ten keywords that I'm working on. Five of which have been coming and going on the Google pages. There is a lot of competition, but I am starting to get a better handle on how to blog using these keywords and I hope to have them come up better.

Personal Mentoring is an Invaluable Asset

I want to thank the Prosper staff for the help and guidance they have given me. I have been able to set up my own website and begin to establish my e-commerce business. I have a better understanding of the different facets of starting a business on the Internet.

I have chosen my niche market and understand how to obtain the products I wish to sell and how to market them. I understand how to use e-Bay. I have been able to sell three books and five vases: a total of eight items. I have made a small sum, but the experience was invaluable.

I have learned not only how to set up a website but also how to investigate and use the key words that help identify my site. I have been given and learned how to use the various tools that the Prosper Program has given me. After I was accepted to the program, I then began my journey with the Prosper Learning Center. I saw a way to do what I had always dreamed of: to have my own company and be financially secure.

There were several incredible moments in the last few months. First, I learned so much. I learned the very basics through the ins and outs of internet marketing which many do not know. I had an incredible experience looking for suppliers, creating my website and building my business. I registered my business name and went to the Department of Revenue to get my sales license permit. I am an entrepreneur!

I came up with a logo and a tag line. I got business cards. Incredible! I have had one sale and several hits on my website.  As I learned the details of making a successful website, I also delved into eBay. I’ve sold nearly $100 worth of books (selling 25 items). I’ve applied my newly learned marketing principles to my eBay store.

Over the last 3 months with my eCommerce coach, I learned more than I ever expected. Although my website isn’t making the kind of money I would like yet, it will. I have a solid foundation for a very successful eCommerce business.

My coach is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. His understanding of what NOT to do is as valuable as what to do. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every call and couldn’t wait to find out I would learn next. He also encouraged me to utilize the incredible resources that are available in the Prosper Learning Center. Being an experienced professional marketer, both online and offline, for many years brought me the confidence to tackle any project. So when I decided to join the Prosper program, I was not sure if I would actually learn anything new and simply thought it would be a refresher course.

£1799 in Three Weeks

I paid for the eCommerce course by credit card. Three weeks into the course, my credit card bill arrived and I became concerned with the huge interest payments. I told my coach and he told me to list at least 10 items on Ebay that week.

In 3 weeks I have sold 13 items totalling £1799.00/$3598.00 (approximately). The biggest seller was a designer handbag, bought from a designer shop at wholesale price of £250/$500. The handbag is the latest design and highly sought after. It sold for £715/$1430 approx. In view of the response, I ordered another one of the handbags and made a second chance offer to the second highest bidder (£695/$1390).
 
I have learned to use the second chance offer for many of my hot items as I realise it saves time and effort. It has worked fine.  My Coach is fantastic and I would recommend him highly to anyone who is prepared to work hard and do what he asks. I wanted results and I am getting results thanks to my Coach. Even when I was finding it difficult to get suppliers, all he said was “find a supplier” and I found SUPPLIERS!!!

My Coach Has Given Me Confidence

When I started the Prosper Learning Ecommerce program, I had no knowledge about the steps involved in setting up an online business. It has been extremely helpful to have someone with experience to walk me through the steps to actually implement an ecommerce website, along with tips and tricks, best practices and pitfalls to avoid. During my year of coaching with Prosper Learning, I've learned many different aspects of ecommerce, including:

Knowing the concepts, their intent and purpose and how to effectively set up and use the tools has been invaluable for my current objectives and for future online ventures that I may decide to embark on. Even if I decide not to continue to use every different tool that I've been introduced to, I feel the first-hand experience with all of this has given me a new level of understanding of the overwhelming world of ecommerce and internet marketing.

Over the next couple of months, I plan to continue to optimize my websites, create and add useful content, build links via blog posts, comments, directory submissions, social media and writing articles and press releases. I plan to continue to spend between 10-20 hours on my online businesses each week to build my web presence and brand and start offering my own or others' information products for sale. Maintaining motivation and managing the time using a weekly strategy and action plan will be the greatest challenges.

In the meantime, I plan to find or develop a report/article/newsletter to offer free as an incentive to opt in to an email list for ongoing marketing purposes. In the medium term, I plan to research and develop information products that are needed by my target market, with consulting, training and speaking service offerings as the higher-end back end services. Although I have not started to generate any income from my websites as yet, my goal is to generate more than enough income from my online business(es) to offset all of my living expenses within the next six months to a year.

As always, Dan is a knowledgeable, patient, helpful coach. He motivated me to get my assignments done each week and helped to address more difficult or complex issues or point me to other resources, as needed. I realize that I now know all I need to do on a regular basis to build up my presence on the web to start generating income. Dan's mentoring has given me confidence that I can apply my knowledge to establishing and marketing other internet businesses in the future.

Without the Training from Prosper, I Never Would Have Done This On My Own

Before starting the Proper program I had limited knowledge of eCommerce.  I had purchased items online before and I had bought and sold a few things on eBay, but I had no idea how to start an eCommerce business, or any business for that matter. Prosper and my coach helped pave every step of the way. 

I’ve managed to start and maintain an eBay store called "Big Dog Sports and Fitness" and I started my own website www.bigdogfit.com, neither of which would have been possible without the tools and support I was given along the way.

This has been 3 ½ months of intensive learning, training, implementing and so on, I’m exhausted, but in a good way.  To date I’ve sold about $3000 worth of product from my eBay store.  Because my products are seasonal it has tapered off, but it will pick up again soon.  I am also going to work on a second ebay store (know that I know what to do) to help take up the slack during the off-season times.  I would have never attempted to do this on my own if it wasn’t for the training and guidance I received from Prosper.

Patience Pays Off

I have started as a student at Prosper in a reluctant way. Being impatient by nature, I expected to see results right away. I knew the potential and power of the internet, but I felt like nobody was finding me. I often felt like I made the biggest financial blunder of my life.

All along, everyone at Prosper kept telling me I was doing great. I hung in there, did all I could. But still no sales. I was convinced no one would find me.  My first sale happened late at night, out of the blue. I almost didn't even know how to process it. But then the sales grew. And the rankings went up, and there were more sales. I now sell an instrument every week.

Sense the last time I spoke to my coach Kirk, I have had 17 sales on my site and have made a profile of over $850 including $132 with Google adsense.  One of the greatest experiences I had was subtle. Last Sunday, I was out with a friend, so I wasn't at the computer all day. No blogs, no posts, no social media. Just my little site vs. the world. I couldn't believe that day when I finally got to my computer at 6pm that evening, the viewership of the site was strong, advertising was good, etc. It was a similar result as if I had been home all day on the computer. But I don't have to be anymore. The site takes care of itself now. So I know: I've arrived. Thank you, Prosper.

Thank You for Getting Me Started in My Money-Making Career

I had heard of eBay, but never even looked at their site before being coached at Prosper Learning, Inc. I was so excited when I started reading about success stories from selling on eBay, so decided to give it a try. I purchased 32 items (women’s and children’s name brand clothing) at a high end thrift shop in a neighborhood right by Jupiter Island in Florida. I spent $67.00 on the 32 items, which is about $2.00 per item. I listed the items and sold 12 on my first try for a total profit of approximately $40.00.

I learned a lot from those listings, so now when I "relist" the ones that did not sell the first time, I will use the advice I got to get those items sold. I am now getting ready to sell some big items I have around the house on Craig’s List, using the helpful information from my coach. I know I am going to be very successful in this business, as well as the website my coach and I are working on.

Student Makes $1382 Off of Boyhood Collection

I started by listing some coins from a collection belonging to a friend of my sister.  I get 30% of the selling price and all of the shipping fees since I don't take much, if any, markup on that.  I sold all 9 sets I listed for a total of $224.87.

In addition to the coins, I listed and sold 10 baseball cards from part of my boyhood collection for a total of $1382.10.  The top 3 prices I got for these is $174.51, $325.00, and $481.01.

These cards were all from 1967, 68 & 69.  There was really only one card company then, Topps Trading Cards.  Each pack of cards had 5 baseball cards and a stick of bubble gum for 5 cents, so I originally paid 1 cent for each of these cards.  Now I did recently have the cards graded for $9.00 each, so that is my real cost for each one, but I got a pretty good return.

I have done this on a very part time basis, only listing 1 - 4 items per week.

My Best Furry Friend a Grandmother's Journey

A few months ago I made a few unique baby gifts, silky soft furry blankets, for a couple of new babies.  The ladies at the baby shower loved the baby security blankets and asked if I would make some for them.  Their friends saw these unique baby shower gifts and wanted more.  I made forty animal print baby blankets that month and I just gave them away.

The following month and 30 blankets later I had an epiphany.  Why not make these creative baby gifts into a small business.  Making these precious blankets made me happy and I love working with my hands.  So, the fun began.  I created three design lines; Noah's Ark, Sweet Dreams, and Furry & Fun.  After deciding on a business name, finding a logo, getting the proper trademark authorizations, opening bank accounts, building a temporary website (the real one is one the way with beautiful photos) created by my son-in-law, getting a terrific business coach through ww.prosperlearning.com, purchasing fabrics and hiring employees; BIP Enterprises, LLC dba My Best Furry Friend was born.

I found that all, children and adults alike, love the silky softness of the blankets.  I am now offering a variety of sizes to fit the recipient.  This alone has increased by customer base.  I have corporate customers ordering for their employees and clients who have had new babies.  College students are using My Best Furry Friend blankets for their afternoon naps between classes or as TV blankets to snuggle in.

I am learning so much going through this experience.  Creating this blog is one of my assignments.  My husband and children can hardly believe this new computer mama.  I am having the time of my life.  My husband wants to retire in the near future and here I am just beginning.  Enjoy your tour @ www.mybestfurryfriend.com.

I Have Sold Over 177 Items on eBay

My fascination with eBay began as most everyone's does.  I got on eBay to see what was listed that I might want to purchase.  For the first couple of years, I just browsed and bought on eBay at my leisure.  It didn't occur to me to sell until my sister-in-law from out of state came for a visit.  She casually mentioned that she had paid for her trip with her profits from her sales on eBay.  That got me thinking that if she can do it, why couldn't I.

Now I get easily overwhelmed at the thought of a new venture or project that I have to do, but I have learned to break any venture down to little pieces and concentrate on tackling one piece at a time.  If I succeed at the first piece, I go to the next.  I call them 'Little Wins'.  Just one 'Little Win' at a time.

I began selling some of the stuffed animals that my children had when they were little.  I cleaned them up really well and listed them on eBay and to my astonishment, they sold.  Then I began to go around to garage sales and second hand stores and buy more stuffed animals and list them, and to my surprise they sold as well.

To date, I have sold over 177 items on eBay and have just opened an eBay store, which I named 'Beary Beautiful Limited', which features Build-A-Bears and Vermont Teddy Bears at discount prices.  I am also currently working on a web-site called www.bearybeautiful.net, which should be up and running soon.  My coach at Prosper has helped me with both the eBay store and the web-site.

Prosper Learning has been an integral part of my success and continues to be a motivator for me both personally and professionally.  If I can do it...so can you !!!

Going towards a dream

I always had a dream of owning my own website,but had no idea where I can begin and what products would I carry.  After may years of searching the net for a homebase busines and loosing money trying to work with other projects.  I was determine to find a way to my passion for a website with  very little knowledge of the computer I was contacted by Prosper group and I have no regrets.

I was given a personal coach who I found very patient and understanding my limited knowledge of the computer, he worked with me giving me all the advise from keyword search all the way to blog, wordsearch, article writing, url ,etc.  I opened a membership with eBay sold a couple of products already, and I also created my own website.  At present I am in my third month with my course and as a mountain climber would say "I am half wayup the mountain and I will not stop until I reach the top". 

I am 100%  sure of reaching where I want to go and my first email will be directly to my coach telling him of my success.

I Have Learned a Lot About Researching Product Sourcing

Before I started our Prosper mentoring journey I did not have a presence on eBay, which I do now.  I may not be a major player, but it is something to build on, and I will.  I did not have a website, but I do now.  I also have plans to build on this as a major part of my retirement plan.

Craigslist and the Light at the End of the Tunnel

Wow - I can't believe it.  Selling via Craigslist is easy as 1-2-3 since joining only a month now.  My Coach keeps me on track and drives me to excel with all the homework, Prosper Resources, reading assignments, and research materials.  This is education that would have taken months for me to figure out on my own. 

I had hopes something magical would happen or wait for someone to come to my doorsteps to teach all this eCommerce business.  I took action into my own hands with Prosper in the hopes of making a positive difference in my life and Prosper has delivered - and more.  I knew something was different when I signed-up and went through the elective courses, live and reviewing past classes.  My mentor coached me through and through, step-by-step, simply amazing to discover a whole new world. 

Since I live way out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean - Hawaii, it's kind of a disadvantage using eBay; but found a niche in our islands with Craigslist.  I never knew people are truly looking for just about anything, old, new, antiques, etc. You just never know until you list things on the internet.  I will keep trying with eBay and hopefully strike it good one day in that arena, for me now, it's Craiglist.  Thank you Prosper.

We Have a Steady Income of About $100 a Month

Our site, www.OldTimeClipArt.com, has over 1600 images available on CD, ranging everywhere from inventions to people to transportation of the 19th century.  In June of 2008, this small company has sold an average of 10 discs a month to people all over the world.  We make about $10 profit on each sale, so we have a steady (yet mild) income of about $100/month from this business.  We’ve sold (since June) 26 CD's and have made about $260 so far.

We are looking to expand, and set up an online service that would allow customers to download our product without requiring us to ship out a CD. We are hoping to eliminate any ‘hands-on’ work from our business to make this a completely self-running operation. With the help of Prosper, we believe this can happen, along with our complete financial independence as of July, 2016.

This Has Been Very Exciting for Me

Rough Start

I could not get my homework done the first week even though i spend more than 20 hours on it.  The google "allintitle" did not make any sense to me.  I was ready to throw my computer through the wall.  I kept at it and today I acheive success.  I cannot email it but will find a way to get it to my instructer.  So if you just keep calling the resource center, who were very helpfull and did not make me feel stupid, even when I was.  you to can make it to the second week. 

Oh by the way I had to reschedule my 2nd lesson because I was not finished and because I was truly lost, but did not want to get more behind so I just took extra time.  The rescheduling department was very helpful.

Best Friend Boutique

Home Based Business Builds Big and Furry

BIP Enterprises, LLC dba My Best Furry Friend began just about six months ago as a fun and heartfelt blanket company. Our initial business sales were by word of mouth to friends and family. With the help of Prosper Learning and Nate Moller, we have certainly grown up. Currently we have two large corporate customers who order baby blankets for the newest family members of their clients and employees. We have also introduced our blankets to three of the most well known baby boutiques; one of which is located in West Hollywood where the rich and famous frequent. We are in negotiations with five of the largest zoos across the country to place our Noah's Ark wild animal line in their shops. The best part of this experience has been all of the knowledge gleaned from my coach at Prosper. It has been invaluable, not easy, but so worthwhile. Issues from marketing, cashflow, tax understanding and learning more about the internet; the list goes on. I have so much more to learn. Keeping open-minded, staying motivated and not giving up when things aren't perfect are key. The bottom line is that I have doubled my business in just six months. Starting Something Healthy

I have been a sales engineer and sales manager for 20 years and a runner for 38. I started the eCommerce program so I could earn a living with the sport I love, running. My desire is to help others enjoy the sport that has given so much to me, enable them to lead healthier lifestyles and accomplish their goals. Within my first few days of working with my coach, Ben Burr, I decided to generate some income via eBay. Using information he provided, I found iPods and MP3 players on liquidation sites. I went to eBay and did my homework on what they would sell for in order to help establish a maximum bid. I won a bid for iPods and another for MP3 players. I was able to generate $361.00 with these items in just a few weeks. I have since bought other items and resold them on eBay and have generated around $800.00 sales in the six weeks. We are just a couple of weeks away from launching my site, runs2win.com. I am looking forward to continued success!

It is great to open my PayPal account and see the sales and money adding up

I love selling on-line and find it an extremely enjoyable way to make money. I really enjoy working with you and learning how to build and tweak my website. At this point my website has brought in about $830 on 13 sales. It is great to be able to open my PayPal account and see the sales and money adding up. With Prosper, it is great to have someone looking over my shoulder, who knows what to do and can direct me, instead of just stumbling along by myself. $5,000 in eBay Sales

In the last three months, I have sold approximately $5,000 worth of merchandise on eBay. This has been a combination of personal items and merchandise I intentionally bought in order to turn a profit. The items I have been doing as a “business” have amounted to about $1600 in sales. The net profit on those sales has been a little over 10%. The margins have not been very strong, but the time invested has been relatively low. The new Daily Deals on Wholesale Match have some promise. I recently bought a new 32” LCD TV with iPod teledock from a company referenced by the Wholesale Match Daily Deals. The day it arrived, I sold it on eBay that night. I turned around the next morning, slapped a shipping label on the box and sent it right back out the door for a $136 gross profit, approximately $64 after the fees. Not bad for virtually no work. I would like to have 10-20 a month like that one!

Unimagined Success on Ebay for a Beginner

We had never sold anything on ebay before we started working with Prosper so we weren't quite sure how that was going to work. But we found a few things around the house and garage and put them on. I had purchased a few items on ebay so I had a little familiarity with the layout, but not from the seller's perspective. The learning curve was steep at first, but we found out how to deal with questions and not lose the prospective customer. We learned how to describe the items so that there were fewer questions and we started getting sales. We accidentally learned how to negotiate international sales when we put something up for sale that developed customer interest on the other side of the globe. Even that sale turned out alright. We have so far sold 11 items on ebay and are looking forward to finding more items to sell there. We have also begun work on an online store concept and are looking forward to making our first sales there.
