SEO: Constantly Changing
One of the on going changes in SEO is personalization. Recently Google implemented a wide spread integration of personalization in its search engine results. In the past, Google provided two search engine personalization techniques; customization of the individualâ€™s Google home page for quick and easy access to the userâ€™s customized information, and automatic personalization from an individualâ€™s search history. Today there are new personalization features being used by Google.
Just recently Google has combined both options for a userâ€™s home page. Users who sign up for any Google service will be enrolled into three more Google products: search history, personalized search and personalized homepage.
A 2006 Choice Stream Personalization Survey shows that 79 percent of respondents are willing to trade personalization for privacy and the results were especially strong in the 18-24 year old age group.
