Creating an Irresistible Offer
One of the best ways to improve your site, once you have started to receive traffic, is making as much of that traffic as you can. Not only will an irresistible offer help with traffic, but it will also encourage visitors to stay on the site.
The purpose of an irresistible offer is to capture info from your visitors. Over time as you become and expert in driving traffic to your site, you will have hundreds and eventually thousands of people who come to your site at one point or another, but never buy anything and just leave. When we think about the irresistible offer, we are looking for ways to get something out of those visitors. If they aren’t going to buy anything, the next best thing would be to at least get there name and email address as to be able to advertise to them in the future. Building your own database of customers that you can connect with on a consistent basis is essential to the long term success of your website. Once you have a list created you have access to hundreds of people who have been to your site before and left there name and email on your site. Now you will have a good list of people to consistently market to.
What this article is going to talk about is what you need to know when creating and irresistible offer.
1. High Value. When you create this offer, remember it has to be something that you yourself would register for. Newsletters were something people used to put on there site that you could sign up for. They worked well for a while but are now outdated. Try to look at something they can download that is helpful. Put yourself in your customer’s shoes and try to brainstorm something that you could provide them that would be helpful. In my site, www.directhuntinggear.com one of the things I have done in the past is provided my customers a page will all the draw dates for each hunt for each western state. It was an offer any hunter looking to buy products couldn’t pass up.
2. Unique. As mentioned in 1, try to find something that is somewhat unique. You might try a short audio clip that can be downloaded, or you might try a giveaway that changes every month. If you offer something they can get “anywhere” they probably won’t bother. So spend some time brainstorming and researching something that is Unique.
3. FREE. Remember the saying “you can’t beat FREE” that is especially true in the ecommerce world. Often time’s people go online looking for some info or something free, you have to make sure that whatever your irresistible offer is, it needs to be free.
4. Downloadable: This is very important, because when you give something away for free and it is “irresistible” it has to be something they can get right away. Sometimes people will impulse buy. This is no different, if they see something that is irresistible, then they will sign up for it, however when they sign up for it, it needs to come to them write away. So make sure that whatever you give them is something that can be immediately obtainable.
