Why We Started Prosper
When the odds are against you, it helps to have someone on your side. And that’s why we founded Prosper.
We both came from families that weren’t especially well off. We had to pass up a lot of luxuries. Our background wasn’t necessarily conducive to founding a business, but we have succeeded, against the odds.
In our conversations with students and in reading their success stories, we see that many have a common thread—that people around the student didn’t think they could be successful. Those surrounding the student thought the odds were against them, so they should just stick with the status quo. That’s what we do: we help people overcome the odds.
What we offer may not be for everyone, but for those who are ready to stick to their commitments, we’ll stand in their corner. If you are ready, we’ll bet on you. We’re willing to work with you one-on-one and help you reach your potential.
The probabilities say that a new business has roughly a 10% chance of success in its first five years. We’re one of those 10 percent companies. We have beaten the odds and we can help you do the same.
Our success hasn’t come from our resources, but rather from our resourcefulness. Among the many things we love about what we do is giving people the hope that they can do it too. We love sharing our expertise.
