Committed to giving back to the Provo community, Prosper Inc joined with the United Way to participate in Sub for Santa, an annual program that provides gifts for children through sponsors.
Jenn Kilstrom, who is the director of the Sub for Santa program for the United Way of Utah County, said that Prosper’s consistent contribution is greatly appreciated.
"Prosper Inc assisted 25 children this year and has been a sponsor we can count on since 2005," Kilstrom said. "It's great having a sponsor return year after year and we are grateful for Prosper's involvement."
To show its appreciation for Prosper's continued support, the United Way of Utah County gave Prosper an award to recognize its commitment to community service.
Prosper Inc has been fortunate to be able to participate in Sub for Santa for the past five years and plans to continue its involvement with the organization. This year, the United Way of Utah County announced that 2,069 families with 5,663 children received gifts thanks to the initiative.
In light of the economic recession, Prosper welcomed the opportunity to serve those in need. Prosper's employees, or "Santas" in this case, felt that they received more than they gave.
One family expressed their gratitude in a brief note.
"My family and I would like to thank you for everything you've done this Christmas," the V. Family wrote. "We did not know what we would have done this year and thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"
